Legislative Action Committee

Employers are subject to an ever-increasing array of federal and state laws and regulations.  Human Resource professionals have a stake in this trend, since they will be called upon to educate management and ensure compliance with both existing and new laws.  The HR profession is becoming more organized and vocal in its effort to support helpful proposals and to scuttle poor ones.  Involvement with legislative affairs will help your chapter to:

• Gather and disseminate information on existing and proposed laws and regulations;
• Encourage involvement in the legislative process, from writing letters to testifying at agency hearings; and
• Educate your members via access to briefings on key issues and rosters of expert speakers
